Gather ’round for storytime on the lawn!
Join us for a special story time and book selection event! Kids can come onboard Reading is Fundamental (RIF) Pittsburgh’s Storymobile from 12-2pm to select a brand-new book to keep and also participate in a family story time on the lawn at 12:30pm!
The story time and most of the books will be targeting kids 12 and under but they will have books for all ages available on the Storymobile – so any adult or teen family members can also select a new book!

Reading is Fundamental Pittsburgh addresses this critical need by providing children with access to self-selected books, creating positive environments that motivate children to develop a lifelong love of reading, and engaging families in literacy practices in the home. By providing nearly 84,000 books and services to our city’s most economically disadvantaged children, RIF Pittsburgh is dedicated to reducing the literacy gap in our community and fostering a love of reading in the children we serve.
Storymobiles are libraries-on-wheels, taking stories, activities, books, and literacy resources to early childhood centers, pre-K and kindergarten classrooms, after-school programs, public housing communities, and special events across our city. The Storymobile team leads innovative programming designed to build literacy skills, expand content knowledge, and get children excited about reading and learning.
